Golden Gate Yacht Club/BMW Oracle Racing (USA), Defenders for the The 34th America’s Cup, are responsible together with the Challenger of Record, Mascalzone Latino (ITA), to propose the timing, locations and format of racing for the 34th America’s Cup together with the protocol document (the rules). It is hoped that these announcements/decisions will be made in consultation with the other teams during the early part of 2010.
Once the protocol is declared and agreed, then teams can formally ‘challenge’ for the 34th America’s Cup event.
