The 33rd America’s Cup took place in Valencia in February 2010. It took the format of a ‘Deed of Gift’ regatta between two teams - the Defender, Alinghi (SUI) and the Challenger of Record, BMW Oracle Racing (USA). Racing took the format of a best of three race series, the teams raced each other in state of the art multihulls.
BMW Oracle Racing (USA) took victory by winning two racing and therefore won the best of 3 series with a 2:0 victory over Alinghi (SUI).
BMW Oracle Racing/Golden Gate Yacht Club are now the Defenders for the 34th America’s Cup and have announced Mascalzone Latino (ITA) as their Challenger of Record.
