Dec 2008:
Ben Ainslie and TEAMORIGIN compete in Monsoon Cup match racing event
Deadline for entries for the 33rd America’s Cup reached : an unprecedented 19 teams officially enter
22nd Dec : revised Protocol for the 33rd America’s Cup issued by SNG/Alinghi after consultation with CNEV and all Challengers/entered teams
Nov 2008:
TEAMORIGIN competes in first ever America’s Cup regatta, the CNEV annual regatta in Valencia, and finishes 3rd
Oct 2008:
TEAMORIGIN crew on Speedboat, renamed “Virgin Money”, with Sir Richard Branson on first transatlantic record attempt, attempt aborted due to ripped mainsail
Ben Ainslie and TEAMORIGIN team finish 3rd in Bermuda Gold Cup match racing event
Ben Ainslie awarded 2008 ISAF Sailor of the Year for 3rd time
Sept 2008:
TEAMORIGIN complete 2008 iShares Extreme 40 series in 2nd place overall, Alinghi win the series
Aug 2008:
Three TEAMORIGIN sailors win Gold medals at the Beijing Olympic Games
Ben Ainslie wins his 4th Olympic medal and 3rd gold medal
Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson win Gold in the Star class, Iain Percy’s 2nd gold medal

TEAMORIGIN continue progress in iShares Cup with a 2nd place in Hyeres, France
TEAMORIGIN sailors crew on maxi yacht ‘Speedboat’, owned by Alex Jackson and skippered by Mike Sanderson – achieving line honours in the Newport to Bermuda Race

TEAMORIGIN purchase Extreme 40 and enter 2008 iShares Cup series with team member Robert Greenhalgh as Skipper and Helm

Delays announced by TEAMORIGIN given the court case between GGYC and SNG : Team have to put plans to set up base in Valencia on hold
Sept 2007:
Full TEAMORIGIN team revealed at the Southampton Boat show, including leading names such as:
Ben Ainslie, Skipper and Helm; Iain Percy, Tactician; Juan K, Principle Designer;
GBR 75 sailed in UK waters for the first time under its new TEAMORIGIN branding during the Southampton Boat Show
July 2007:
GBR 75 is sailed for the first time in Valencia – historically sail against the replica of the yacht ‘America’, winner of the first event back in 1851
July 23rd : TEAMORIGIN and RTYC lodge their official entry for the 33rd America’s Cup event
June 2007:
Team open UK office and base in Portsmouth within the Royal Navy premises
TEAMORIGIN announce Royal Thames Yacht Club as the official challenging Yacht Club for the team for the 33rd America’s Cup
May 2007:
TEAMORIGIN form alliance with Royal Yachting Association and agree to become main partner to the OnBoard programme : dedicated to introducing 500,000 young people to sailing over a 10 year period
TEAMORIGIN purchase their first significant asset : SUI 75 was bought from Alinghi, America’s Cup Defender, as the team’s first training boat
April 2007:
Team establish a presence in Valencia to overview events for the 32nd America’s Cup
March 2007:
Team recruits Mike Sanderson as Team Director, previous winner of Volvo Ocean Race 2005/06 and ISAF Sailor of the Year 2006
Jan 2007:
